About
Livia Barbuti
Compassionate • Integrative • Trauma-Informed
With over twenty years of experience in behavior therapy, I bring a deep understanding of human development, emotions, patterns and how they’re shaped by both the mind and the body. My background allows me to bridge Applied Behavioral Principles with Counselling, Somatic Awareness and Life-Coaching Tools, offering each client an approach that’s both structured and deeply compassionate.
My sessions are not one-size-fits-all. I adapt to each client’s pace, personality and nervous system, integrating CBT, DBT, Narrative, Somatic and Eco-Therapy within a Medicine Wheel-inspired framework that honors mind, body, emotion and spirit.
I also believe that healing involves more than just the mind. It requires alignment with the body. Healing doesn’t only happen in an office or on a screen. It can also happen in nature through movement, breath and quiet reflection. When we step outside, our senses begin to support us: seeing the colors and light, touching natural textures, hearing the wind and breathing in fresh air. These sensory experiences help regulate the nervous system, calm the body and create space for new thoughts to form. In nature, we slow down enough to notice stillness, redirect overwhelming thoughts and gently replace them with grounding, positive ones. By observing the natural world, we learn to reconnect with ourselves, embody peace in our bodies and release painful sensations that often signal fear in the brain. Outdoor, movement-based and sensory-informed counselling can help you feel lighter, more present and more free supporting healing from the inside out.
Whether online or outdoors, I help clients reconnect with safety, creativity and self-trust in ways that feel natural and grounded.
Clients often describe my approach as gentle but deep, structured but flexible and practical yet soulful because true healing requires both tools and tenderness.
Healing with heart where mind, body and spirit come together in balance.

My Approach
My Counselling Approach
Integrative • Holistic • Compassionate• Trauma-Informed
My counselling approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Eco-Therapy within a holistic framework inspired by Medicine Wheel.
I believe that healing and growth happens when we integrate all aspects of who we are: our thoughts, feelings, body and spirit into the healing process. Each session is collaborative, compassionate and paced gently to meet your individual needs.
Through our work together, you’ll gain insight into patterns that no longer serve you, learn tools for emotional regulation and self-awareness and reconnect with your inner strength and wisdom. My goal is to create a safe and compassionate space where healing unfolds naturally at your pace.
Counselling is not about becoming someone new. It’s about coming home to who you truly are.
My Coaching Approach
Empowering • Practical • Transformational
My coaching approach focuses on helping individuals clarify goals, build confidence and create meaningful, lasting change. Drawing on Life Skills Coaching principles, I guide clients toward greater self-awareness, resilience, balance and supporting both personal and professional growth.
Coaching sessions are forward-focused and action-oriented, blending reflection with practical tools that empower individuals to move from insight to implementation. Together, we identify your strengths, uncover limiting beliefs and develop strategies to help reach your full potential.
I integrate mind–body awareness and holistic practices inspired by the Medicine Wheel, honoring the connection between mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellness. This allows individuals to make decisions from a grounded, authentic place by aligning actions with values and purpose.
Coaching isn’t about fixing. It’s about unlocking the wisdom, strength and clarity already within each individual.
Healing is not one-dimensional. It happens when we bring awareness, compassion and balance to every part of ourselves. Each session is guided by compassion and collaboration, tailored to pace and each individual needs.
Over the years, I’ve been deeply touched by the words shared by families, students and colleagues. Their appreciation reminds me of why I do this work to nurture growth, connection and hope.
